receptive silence

As a symbol of purity and receptivity the Maria statue in the Abbey Keizersberg Leuven slowly disappeared under a veil of dust and dirt. A common act as cleaning the statue in relation to the religious context became a complex transformation. By using dirt as a medium, the obtained print becomes a silent memory.

The original in-situ work moved to a new location where it revived as the light of colored glass windows gives a new layer.
